3 Reminders For Young Married Couples

Welllll, I just thought I’d hop on here and share some tips that I think will help and encourage the young married couples going through these crazy times in 2020 since I myself am a young 21 year old married women! These are of course my thoughts and opinions so do not feel like you have to agree with them in anyway! :)

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 2 years now! I would be lying if I said every minute of marriage is easy. When you put two completely different people together there are bound to be issues and disagreements, especially when the two individuals are so young and still growing. Although issues will arise between a married couple, there are a lot of positives that can come from two hearts becoming one! Sure we are still growing, but we are growing together and becoming a strong bond that no man can break!

TIP #1: Kindly Listen to the marriage advice and words of others, but don’t feel like you have to do what they tell you and expect of you.At the end of the day, you and your spouse decide what and what not to do in your marriage and nothing else matters!

· Its your marriage, not anyone else’s! Even Before Spencer and I got married we were warned by a lot of people about what we were doing and getting ourselves into.

“Oh you two are so young, why don’t you just go to college first?” “Are you pregnant, Is that why you’re getting married so young” “Don’t you think you should get a solid career first?”

… I’ve heard it all people and to be honest... none of it mattered! At the end of the day I knew I was going to marry my Spencer, I was and am in love with Him, we both love God and want to grow old together and We are so Happy! Sure there are days that we don’t even want to look at each other, but we both know deep down inside, even during those trying times, that we want each other through it all, through the highs and lows, and through the hills and valleys. Drown out the noise of all the haters and focus on what you and your Spouse want, not what society wants.

TIP #2: Listen to each other and COMMUNICATE! I know you’ve heard it before but COMMUNICATION IS KEY!

· You will have plenty of fights in marriage but if you want it to be a marriage that lasts for life then you must talk it out. Try to understand your partners side, come two an agreement and forgive each other.

· Also, How the heck are you supposed to get to know your partner if you aren’t communicating? Talk about your likes and dislikes, interests, hobbies, etc.. Be a friend to your spouse, laugh at them, laugh with them, be there when they want to cry, and be there to congratulate them on their wins! Be present with your spouse!

TIP #3: Have fun, Stay Young at Heart, and Always Date!(when possible, even if it’s to the Grocery Store, just the two of you!)

· How did you get your spouse in the first place? You dated! So don’t stop!

If you want to keep that fire and passion in your relationship, then never stop dating your spouse.

Never stop holding their hand and telling them they look good tonight.

Be spontaneous and be as happy sitting in a parking lot and talking as you were when you first started dating, not a worry in the world, just you two and the stars. I find that when we sit down and talk about our favorite memories, reminiscing on our cute little dating days, it brings up warm loving feelings and butterflies!

I know this was a short and sweet one today guys, but I hope this got you feeling all lovey in side and motivated you and your spouse on this journey we call marriage.

Now Remember, don’t let anyone tell you how to run your marriage, communicate and have some fun!

Now go hug your spouse, and rock your marriage! <3 :)
